Dust off those rollerblades you’ve been using as a doorstop since 1999, ’cause the in-line skates are making a comeback – well, at least for one Dartmouth student. Jack Sisson is rollerblading across the country in order to raise money for Action Against Hunger. So far, Sisson, class of ’09, has raised $3,000 on his transcontinental skate-a-thon. The Dartmouth student hopes to raise a total of $5,000 by the time he heads back to school in the fall. Since starting his trek in Virginia, word has spread about Sisson’s mission, and he is getting noticed more and more each day. Sisson’s cross-country adventure brings back memories of another classic ‘90s pop culture phenomenon.
Rollerblading’s best days may be behind it, but kudos to Sisson for giving it one last hurrah for a good cause. Although, let’s face it, his story will never compare to going down “Devil’s Backbone” with Seth Green by your side.
