Wellesley College officials admitted yesterday that they haven’t seen the Cubist painting “Woman and Child” by Fernand Leger in quite some time. The painting, which is worth millions, might have been stolen or accidentally thrown out. (Gasp!) Apparently the painting was stored last year while the museum was undergoing construction and hasn’t been seen since. There’s a $100,000 reward for the returned Leger, so if you’re holding “Woman and Child” hostage, now’s the time to cash out. Otherwise, head down to the Wellesley, MA landfill for some high-stakes dumpster diving.
