Not on Twitter? You might want to rethink your decision. The Chronicle of Higher Education just came out with a list of 10 profs to follow for the latest news on their research (mostly new-media based).
The list includes Jay Rosen, associate professor of journalism at NYU; Howard Rheingold, a UC Berkeley lecturer on virtual communities and social media; and Dan Cohen, director of the Center for History and New Media at GMU.
If you’re still not sold on signing up for Twitter, read The Chronicle’s well-worded defense, after the jump.

Once you find a few interesting people to follow, you can order up Twitter anytime and dip into a rich soup of thought.
