CMJ plans College Day for NYC music Marathon ‘08
The last time you went to a mixer, chances are you got a ride from your parents and were rocking some serious 90s hair. But College Music Journal (CMJ) is planning a mixer of a much cooler variety for college radio representatives its annual CMJ Marathon ‘08. This year, the annual College Day (Thursday, October 23) will be preceded by its College Radio Mixer on Tuesday, October 21. According to CMJ, “This special event will bring together college and non-commercial stations from across the map for a unique opportunity to meet with and befriend peers in a relaxed, pressure-free environment before diving head first into the most educational and entertaining week in music.”
So, if you spend the majority of your waking hours plotting out playlists or playing with the big headphones, you can sign up to mix and mingle with other music-minded students and industry professionals and get a second opinion on the new Man Man album without all those funny looks. Sign up for a student pass to the festivities before April 30 at the special “Spring Break” price of $135. Bring 10 or more of your station buddies for a group rate of $120 per pass, which will get you into the mixer, College Day festivities, and many of the zillions of bands that play CMJ Marathon shows each year.
