The last Ampersand of the year

It’s graduation time, and the writers of Wesleyan’s humor page, Ampersand, are saying their goodbyes. An “ampersand,” for those who don’t know, is a cross between a harbor seal & a popular conjunction.
The editor, Alex Gelman, writes about his post-graduation plans in the piece, “I have a job for next year, along with a fine apartment in a great neighborhood in a bustling city, in addition to a well drawn-out plan for the rest of my life; please ask me about all of these things and I will elaborate at length.”
The third item takes the cake though. In “An open letter from Brian’s mom,” a Wesleyan mother addresses her son’s accomplishments: “Brian, seeing how you waste your time in college, you have single handedly changed my stance from pro-life to pro-choice.” To find out why Brian is a quarter racist, read the letter in full.
Ampersand staff, we’ll miss you!

I realize this article was written a year ago, but only Gelman left the Ampersand. Brendan and I are still editors (as we were last year), so please continue to read us.
Besides I wrote the article “that takes the cake.”
We totally will. Thanks for letting us know!
