The Enigmatic Professor “O”

Forget which candidate you’d like to have a beer with. Which would you rather email to admit you haven’t written that paper due tomorrow?

Eggheads all over seem to be jealous of the fact that they didn’t get a chance to take a class with the sexiest professor this side of Indiana Jones when he taught at the University of Chicago Law School. Obama called students by their first names, quoted The Godfather … and check out that curriculum!

His most original course, a historical and political seminar as much as a legal one, was on racism and law. Mr. Obama improvised his own textbook, including classic cases like Brown v. Board of Education, and essays by Frederick Douglass, W. E. B. Dubois, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X, as well as conservative thinkers like Robert H. Bork.

The article links to his syllabus as well as a number of final exams. The instructions on one says, “You will have eight hours, inclusive of travel time, to take the exam. The exam is designed, however, to be completed in three hours. Feel free to use the extra hours as you wish.” Like by fantasizing about saying, “I’ve been very naughty, Professor Obama …”
