So Long Sweet Summer

Hello Internet-Land! I can’t believe it’s August already. Where has this year gone? Or, for that matter, where has the summer gone? It seems like it was just yesterday that the snow was up to my knees and I was praying for heat; now I’m saying, “I miss winter!”
This summer has been crazy for me. I started the summer making myself crazy trying to find an internship and I’m ending it with three. The internship process is a whole other blog entirely, but let me just say it was grueling—I blame the economy for this, but I digress. I have been doing blogs and videos for Unigo.com, and from Unigo, I got this blog on ThePrereq.com; I began the summer doing tasks for stylehop.com; and I’m interning at the Business Improvement District in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. Did I mention I babysit too?
Like most of my endeavors, it seemed like a good idea at the time to take on four internships. I sent my resume out to what seemed like a thousand places and four got back to me. I decided to use the Business Improvement District for academic credit and to do stylehop, Unigo, and The Prereq for fun. I’ve been doing PR work for the BID office and it’s been taking up most of my time. I didn’t like it in the beginning, probably because of the monotony of having a job or going to an office for five hours.
I’m what they call a “giver” type of personality. I like to give to people to make them happy and I hate it when I don’t do 100% on the job. I also love responsibility. Stylehop was giving me a large list of things to do and because I had so many other commitments for the summer, I had to quit.
So I spent the rest of the summer working in Seaside, and I did such a good job at this internship that she hired me as full-time paid staff. I spent the whole summer working, which in itself is kind of sad, because this was my last summer while I’m in college. That’s so hard to think about because I remember thinking that this would never end. With three weeks left of my last college summer, I’m going to try to enjoy it.
