College football players usually have to wait until they get drafted into the NFL to get the big bucks. OU offensive lineman Michael Eynon had to wait until his senior year. The Columbus Dispatch reports that the accounting major won $250,000 in the lottery on Tuesday night after hitting all but one number in a Mega Millions drawing. After turning in his winning ticket, he went to practice and threw footballs around like nothing had changed. Eynon will get $172,500 after taxes, and he plans to donate some of the money to his church and give some of it to his family.

The NCAA has strict regulations when it comes to money and their student athletes, but an OU athletic department spokesman said the winnings will not affect Eynon’s NCAA standing. A spokeswoman for the Ohio Lottery said this was the first time she had ever heard of a college student winning the lottery. Meaning, you still shouldn’t blow all of your tuition money on lottery tickets and scratchers.
