MIT Students Set to Do Something Crazy!

And no, we’re not talking about not doing their super-calculus homework (because that would just be deplorable!)

A group of students touring the country under the “This American Summer” banner announced that at 7 p.m. today, they’ll conduct a flash mob in support of photographers’ rights.

Unfamiliar with the term “flash mob?” Wikipedia says it is a “large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual action for a brief time, then quickly disperse.” The crazy action? Everyone whips out their cameras to document the events as the group rides from Grand Central to Wall Street. Revolutionary!

The group is protesting the NYPD’s recent treatment of photographers, which earned national press during an incident earlier this month in Coney Island.
