Wash U., Hofstra Will Host Debates, Be Pandered To

Chicago Slim will debate Scarface McJowly three times this Fall, and the conductors of these orchestras will be “veteran journalists Jim Lehrer, Gwen Ifill, Tom Brokaw and Bob Schieffer.” Two of the debates will happen on college campuses, and the recipients of those golden tickets this time around are Washington University in St. Louis and Hofstra University.

Hofstra, clearly psyched, is counting down the days and has launched a new program called Educate ‘08 to get its students all hot and bothered about the election.

The debate at Wash U, meanwhile, will be super exciting because Missouri is the Bellwether Swing State (they should put that on the license plates). The school is nothing to snort at, either: it boasts the #1 Best Quality of Life according to the Princeton Review. Hopefully that will help cushion the disappointment of only hosting the VP debate. Speaking of which, the three old white guys get the good gigs while Ifill is on Veep duty. In an election as paradigm-shifting as this one, you’d think maybe someone would consider busting that glass ceiling.
