Apparently some North Carolina State University and Purdue University students didn’t get the memo that they’re now living in blue states. According to the News & Observer, four NCSUers went a little crazy with the magic markers, and now the Secret Service is involved:

Campus police say they will not bring charges against four students who admitted spray-painting racist graffiti aimed at President-elect Barack Obama in the Free Expression Tunnel … The U.S. Secret Service assisted in the investigation, said Jon Barnwell, spokesman for the NCSU police. The federal agency was involved because of the threatening nature of the graffiti, which said “Shoot Obama” and “Kill that n—–.”

At Purdue, a very important tree was similarly affected, says BoilerStation:

A person or persons painted graffiti that was deeply offensive on a landmark tree on campus and chalked it on sidewalks and at least one campus building.

No charges will be pressed because hate speech is A-OK as long as it is confined to the “Free Expression Tunnel” and nature. Still, the students responsible might get expelled, or at least forced to watch a lot of mind-expanding episodes of the Cosby Show.
