The sins of the fathers of Bob Jones University include some pretty hardcore racism, and it is up to the children –or, well, the great-grandchild, President Stephen Jones–to make amends in a statement on the school’s website:

“We failed to accurately represent the Lord and to fulfill the commandment to love others as ourselves. For these failures we are profoundly sorry. Though no known antagonism toward minorities or expressions of racism on a personal level have ever been tolerated on our campus, we allowed institutional policies to remain in place that were racially hurtful,” the statement said.

The school’s hippie-fication began during the tenure of Stephen’s father and predecessor, Bob III, who lifted the ban on interracial dating eight years ago. Who knows where it’ll go from here? Using the scientifically exact “slippery slope” argument, we pinpoint that in 2013, women will be wearing pants and riding bicycles. Let the rolling in graves commence.
