Holy Theory of Gravity, Batman!

They’re making a real-life Iron Man suit, so obviously the next step would be to make all the Batman gadgets and have two comic-book fanatics fight it out to find out who really is the superior superhero. It would be the greatest day for dorks since the latest version of World of Warcraft came out. Unfortunately, some professors at Texas A&M are claiming that our favorite bat-gadgets aren’t realistic due to some dumb scientific things, i.e. gravity.
In an article from Texas A&M’s The Battalion, professors doubt many of The Dark Knight’s gadgets could actually be work in real life. A&M physics professor (and dream destroyer) Dave Toback shot down many bat-gadgets, from the Batmobile’s prowess to the simple Bat-grappling hook. Regarding the grappling hook, Toback said:
“That’s got to be a remarkable motor to pull you straight up,” Toback said. “You’re talking about a little device that’s going to get such huge amounts of torque to wrap it around a little motor, that strikes me as a little unrealistic. Do you see mountain climbers like those? They would even take a small one or a slow one.”
Hey Toback, why so serious? Next you’ll be trying to convince us of some other cockamamie “scientific idea,” like Pluto isn’t a real planet.

Someone needs to do research before running his mouth.
