The University of Minnesota thinks it’s made its way into the Guinness Book of World Records, and no, it has nothing to do with wind chill. According to the AP, health officials administered 11,538 flu vaccinations in just nine hours yesterday on both the Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses. The numbers still have to be verified by the secret and shadowy Guinness committee (they nixed a 60-foot paper chain I made in the 4th grade, so yeah–I’m bitter), but they’ve got quite a hefty margin on the current record-holding immunize-a-thon, 3,271 shots distributed in 2006 in Sanford, Florida. Congratulations, Gophers, and here’s to the healthiest flu season yet!
