Salsa Attack
From the UD Review:
A Newark woman was charged Sunday night with third-degree assault after throwing hot salsa in another woman’s face, Cpl. Scott Simpson of the Newark Police Department said. The defendant, Anna Garcia, 35, and the victim, 27, were both attending the same private party at Timothy’s Restaurant.
Garcia walked past the victim’s table and threw cake in her face, Simpson said. She later returned and threw the salsa at the victim, causing redness and burning to the victim’s eyes.
Simpson said the two have had arguments in the past, but Sunday’s assault was unprovoked. Garcia told police she was walking past the table when she tripped, spilling the salsa.
Garcia responded to allegations by telling the Prereq, “Hey, it was just MILD salsa. Simpson’s a freaking pansy.” Then she threw some kind of pudding in our face. It stung.
